BERGAMO LIONS 28 : 13 AIX-EN-PROVENCE ARGOS

Bergamo -
In front of a packed Osio Sotto Stadium, the Lions took on
the Argos of Aix-En-Provence. It was a beautiful Sunday
afternoon to watch the quarter final match of the Eurobowl.

The home crowd was treated to an exceptional 1st quarter
that had the Lions score 3 touchdowns. The 1st touchdown
came on a sensational 60 yard TD pass, Bucciol to Pazak.
The extra point attempt was unsuccessful. Bucciol, then
threw a 20 yard TD pass to Barbotti. Soresini converted
the 2 point conversion to put the home team up 14 - 0.

Charles Tharp then danced his way to a 15 yard TD to end
the 1st quarter.

With the score 21 - 0, the Argos were finally able to
produce some points against the tough Lions' defence.
The French Champions scored their 1st touchdown on a
QB sneak by #11 Suhl. The Lions then responded with
another TD pass, Bucciol to Pazak. The score was 28 - 7
at half-time.

The Lions did not score in the second half, but played
solid defence allowing only 1 TD by RB Edmunson, sealing
the victory.

The Lions move on to play a rematch of the 2001 Eurobowl
vs. the Vienna Vikings, in the semifinal, on the 16th of
June.
